Fast-a-Thon
Third Annual Fast-A-Thon (2005)

The MSA Fast-A-Thon is a program where we encourage non-Muslim students and staff to fast with us for one day in order to raise awareness about Islam and also to raise money for relief efforts around the world. Faster are invited to break their fast with us at 6:30 pm in the Galaxy Rooms. Full course dinner will be served.
For every non-Muslim who fasts with us, local area businesses have volunteered to donate a certain amount of money towards a charitable organization.
This year, Fast-A-Thon will be held on Thursday, October 27th and will be raising money towards the causes of Earthquake Relief in South-Asia and Hurricane Relief in the US through Islamic Relief USA.
If you have any questions or are looking to sign up, please visit our booth in the Student Union (near the Comet Cafe), Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
By participating in Fast-a-thon you understand that you are pledging to abstain from all food and drink during the daylight hours (6:04 A.M. to 6:45 P.M.) of Thursday, October 27, 2005. You should also try to refrain from negative thoughts and speech. Before fasting, please make sure that don’t have any medical conditions that would prohibit you from completing the fast, and in the unexpected and unlikely event that you should become ill or experience detrimental effects as a result of this fast, you must agree, on the attached Liability Form, to not hold the MSA of The University of Texas at Dallas, The University itself, its members, employees or associated parties or organizations responsible.
We require you to fill out and turn in the form attached below before you fast. Please turn it in to an MSA representative before fasting.
